Granny's Slippers

I started these slippers so long ago but didn't like the finished result because the heel, which was a full granny square, didn't fit properly on my foot and just flapped about at the back instead. So I put them away and left them alone until I recently thought about them again and came up with a possible solution.

The pattern comes from the book Granny Squares Over 25 Creative Ways to Crochet the Classic Pattern and it's really easy to make. I used some leftover James C Brett Aran in two shades of purple and cream coupled with a 5 mm hook to make my pair.

I decided to unpick the heel and try adding a half granny square to solve my problem and the result fits perfectly, completely transforming these slippers.
